About the album

Alice in Chains wrote and recorded Jar of Flies in about a week, 7 to 14 September 1993, at London Bridge Studio in Seattle, and Toby Wright engineered. Columbia put it out on 25 January 1994, and No Excuses went to No. 1 on the Album Rock Tracks chart.

Sap came out on 4 February 1992, cut in four or five days at the same studio with Rick Parashar. Ann Wilson of Heart sings on Brother and Am I Inside, and Chris Cornell and Mark Arm join in on Right Turn, credited to Alice Mudgarden. For Love Song the band swapped instruments, and Sean Kinney sang and played piano.
