The loudest band in America returns with a new lineup and a newly focused take on its time-honoured sonic battery

In stock

Guitarist and effects fiend Oliver Ackermann has been the only constant in the A Place to Bury Strangers lineup since the Brooklyn noiseniks began shredding eardrums in 2003, but the quality control has been consistent for the duration. On Hologram, the first release on APTBS's new Dedstrange label, he and the new husband-and-wife rhythm section of bassist John Fedowitz and drummer Sandra Fedowitz don't stray too far from the established formula - a searing blur of white-hot guitar tones, barrelling rhythms and doomy baritone misanthropy - but with five cuts jammed into a curt 22 minutes the EP displays a breathless concision absent from the band's more sprawling recent outings. Still the most thrilling noise-rock outfit on the planet.
